Before joining BRC I used to think I can't or I could never run, the first night I actually cried because I thought I wasn't going to make it and that I wasn't ever going to come back. However, with the kind encouragement from Sheree and the other people in my group I did make it through that first run. I felt pretty fantastic about it afterward! That feeling drew me back week after week. I went from the first night being afraid of running to 10 weeks later looking forward to my next run, and pushing myself to be better. My goal for 2010 is to run my first 5K, which is something I would not have ever dreamed I'd be able to accomplish. This new confidence and strength I have without a doubt, came from the guidance and education given to me by the instructors at the Brooklin Run Club. |
